Wholistic health ministries. “So closely is health related to our happiness, that we cannot have the latter without the former.” Ellen G. White
Our world isn’t the healthiest place. Stress, pollution and poor exercise and eating habits take a toll on most of us. But there’s a better way.
Adventists believe that whole-self (holistic or wholistic) health and wellness are possible through a life of balance and moderation. God has created a wealth of good things in nature that can help with vibrant health, like pure water, fresh air and sunlight. Regular exercise and avoiding harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol and mind-altering substances can lead to clear minds and better choices. Adventists also advocate a balanced vegetarian diet promote vigorous health.
We’ve got a lot to live for, and being healthy and well gives us the best chance to live the life God has planned for us.

The Adventist Church recognises the autonomy of each individual and their God-given power of choice. Rather than mandating standards of behavior, Adventists call upon one another to live as positive examples of God’s love and care.
The Seventh-day Adventist diet is a well-balanced, vegan/vegetarian diet that’s rich in legumes, whole grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables. However, some followers choose to incorporate some low-fat dairy products, eggs, and low amounts of certain “clean” meats or fish. Avoided are harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol and mind-altering substances (such as caffeine) to have clear minds that make wise choices.

As people who strive to live by the example set by Jesus, we believe the best way to show our love and respect for God is to be the best we can: physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. We believe that a wholesome lifestyle contributes to good physical health, which enhances a person’s mental and spiritual potential.

There’s so much more to life than being inside four walls. Adventists emphasize healthy living and whole-person wellness—and getting outside and being more active are big parts of that. Nature makes us happy.
