    REFRAME: Practical Mission Workshop #2

    A collaborative strategising session that will leave you with practical plans for mission and outreach.

    Member Empowerment of the local church is one of the strategic priorities of the Conference. Reframe is where different ministries of the conference will run workshops to empower members to be better leaders and serve their community.

    Reframe will start off with worship and then break off into two workshops. Dinner will be served as part of the gathering. Please register so we know how many to cater for.

     

    Who this event is for

    This event is for church member and leaders in the local church looking to be more strategic and intentional in church leadership or personal ministries. Areas of focus:

    • Member Empowerment
    • Growing Together

    What happens after?

    Schedule one-on-one meetings with workshop trainers for more targeting coaching and mentorship.

     

    The session kicks off with a combined gathering and then break out workshops. There will be two (2) workshops slot held in the afternoon, and a number of topics to choose from.

    Practical Evangelism – Being a good neighbour
    BLESS. Five everyday ways to love your neighbours and change the world. –– Pr Travis Manners, Director of Evangelism.

     

    Outreach – Mission in our Schools
    Harnessing the Opportunities for shared mission in our schools. –– Pr Richard Reid, Associate Ministerial Secretary for Schools.

     

    Local Church – Governance and Compliance for Achieving Mission
    This workshop will explore the responsibility the Pastor, Church Clerk and leaders have in governing for the local church. Topics discussed will include church governance, compliance, WHS responsibilities, Working with Children Checks, taking minutes and processes for the local church to reach the mission of God. –– Pr Cheonneth Strickland, Greater Sydney Conference General Secretary.

     

    Local Church Finance – The New Normal
    The changes to financial giving post covid, what the church does with finances – providing a face to faceless giving, ACAS (new financial system for local churches) and how it helps with financial reporting to the church board, Tips to help local church treasurers, Q&A session to discuss the needs in the finance ministry at the local church. –– Nadelle Manners, Greater Sydney Conference Chief Financial Officer

     

    Ministerial – Mentorship
    How to provide spiritual mentorship and life guidance. –– Pr Andre Vieira, Ministerial Secretary.

     

    Children #1 – Spiritual Resilience 
    What are some simple steps that churches and homes can do to keep and disciple our kids? –– Pr Daron Pratt, Children & Family Ministry Director.

     

    Children #2 Tweens, Teens and the Digital World 
    How to navigate and parent in the world our kids find themselves in? –– Pr Daron Pratt, Children & Family Ministry Director.

     

    Youth – Reconnecting with Young Members 
    Do you have a heart for young people? We do too! In this workshop we are going to look at how we can engage and reclaim the young people that have been connected to our churches and faith communities. –– Pr Simon Gigliotti, Youth Ministries Director.

     

    Health – Connections Through Wellness
    “The Power of Influencing through Wellness” presented by Dr Christiana Leimena-Lehn, Health Director.

     

    Women – Personal Resilience
    “How can Women Build Resilience During Tough Times and Bounce Back?”  with by Meleofa Tovo, Women’s Ministries Director presented by Claire Marsh, Adventist Counseling Services Manager.
