Partner Island Mission Evangelistic Initiative – You can take part!

In 2026, the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) is set to host Pacific for Christ, a large-scale evangelistic campaign aligned with the “I Will Go” strategy (Mission Refocus initiative), of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This focus builds on the incredible impact of Papua New Guinea (PNG) for Christ in 2024, where more than 100 pastors and members from Australia were a part of PNG for Christ and came home with a renewed enthusiasm for mission in Australia.

More than 1,800 sites have been targeted across the TPUM region.

The South Pacific Division’s Pacific for Christ initiative is an invitation for every church member, pastor and local congregation to engage in frontline mission. Here is a timeline of events:

    • In 2026, Pacific for Christ will support TPUM for Christ. The Greater Sydney Conference will focus on our partner missions in the Solomon Islands (5-18 July) and American Samoa (12-24 July) as a Conference initiative.
      • The Prayer Ministries department will be leading special days of prayer on July 4th and July 11th for God’s blessings to pour over each event.
    • In 2027 Pacific for Christ will support the New Zealand Pacific Union Conference (NZPUC) for Christ. The Greater Sydney Conference will focus on our partner mission in the Cook Islands as a Conference initiative.
    • In 2028 it’s us – Australia for Christ Australia for Christ is not a one-off event, not a programme, not a fast-track campaign. It is a renewed emphasis across the life of our church on what it means to refocus our mission. In tangent with Church Next, Australia for Christ will kick off training in Brisbane in 2026.

For the Greater Sydney Conference, this is more than a project—it is an opportunity to join a Spirit-led movement of revival and transformation.

These are places where members from Greater Sydney can make a meaningful difference. Through preaching, teaching, health outreach, community engagement and prayer, our involvement will help strengthen local churches and support long-term mission growth.

    What’s on

In 2026, we have a special opportunity to support our partner missions in the Solomon Islands and American Samoa. These missions need more people on the ground to share the Gospel. When we work together with our brothers and sisters in other countries, we become part of something bigger than ourselves.

    July – TPUM4Christ Mission Trip

From 5–18 July, Sydney Adventist Women will send a team of 13 women to Honiara, Solomon Islands, to participate in the South Pacific Division’s TPUM4Christ (Trans Pacific Union Mission) evangelistic initiative.

Under the leadership of Women’s Ministries Director Meleofa Tovo, the team will be deployed across multiple sites, partnering with local churches and members to share the gospel and support community outreach. Eight members of the team will serve as evangelistic speakers, presenting either a 14- or 18-sermon series throughout the campaign. The remaining team members will provide vital support through prayer ministry, music ministry, children’s stories, health presentations, visitation, and Vacation Bible School programs for local children.

The team represents a diverse group of women from across the Greater Sydney Conference, including church leaders, mothers, grandmothers, professionals, and lay members who have answered God’s call to mission. In the months leading up to the trip, the women have been preparing through prayer, sermon development, training, and spiritual mentoring.

Their greatest desire is to see lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit. The team is praying that many hearts will be drawn to Christ across every evangelistic site in the Solomon Islands and looks forward to witnessing people make decisions for Christ through baptism. They covet the prayers of the Conference family as they seek to be God’s hands and feet, sharing His love and hope with the people of the Solomon Islands.
