Adventist World Week of Prayer 2023

    2 September 2023 - 9 September 2023

A week of reflection on God’s calling for us and prayer. Adventist World.

God is still instructing through His Word and is still calling today. He desires those who see their need of His transforming power; who humble themselves and seek Him in prayer; who, following in Jesus’ footsteps, show dignity and respect to all people; who are willing to share Revelation’s sometimes-unpopular warning of the three angels’ messages; and who empty themselves to be filled with the Spirit’s grace and freedom.

In the following pages you’ll read stories of biblical characters who were mighty witnesses for Christ in a variety of situations: Joseph, who witnessed despite personal struggles; the young maid who witnessed to her master in a foreign land; Daniel, who witnessed to powerful earthly rulers; and others who shared in their own sphere of influence

    #weekofprayer

Prayer is spiritual communication between us God. It is our direct line with heaven. We pray to talk to God, understand him, connect with him, understand ourselves, and understand what’s happening around us.

    Who this event is for

    Anyone who wants to participate.

Whether you’re new to faith or a life-long learner, you’ll be able to follow along and gain something to strengthen your walk. Participate alone, with family, or with friends. It’s completely up to you!

    How does it work?

Read the daily devotions, consider the questions, and pray. That’s it.

We encourage keeping a journal or note pad to keep track of your thoughts and prayers as you journey through the exercise.

We also want people to pray for us as a church that in this troubling time we will truly love each other and be known as a people who care for everyone affected (not just ourselves) and live and present love and hope as we have it in Jesus.

“Love does no harm to it neighbour …”  Romans 13:10 NIV.
