    NSW Flooding | June 2025

    23 May 2025

The ADRA team are actively monitoring the current weather event and want to acknowledge that some church folk may be anxious about the approaching weather and the possible flooding.

Please stay connected with one another and reliable information to make informed decisions.

    Reliable sources of information

Check out current warnings on SES’s Hazard Watch webpage.
You can also download the app and set watch zone notifications to your location.

You can get emergency updates online at NSW

Download the ABC listen app for your convenience and turn on notifications and preset your car radio to your local ABC radio station.

    • BOM

The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia’s official weather forecast radar.

    We suggest subscribing to the Bureau of Meteorology – YouTube channel and turning on notifications for short video updates;

Download The BOM Weather app and set your location for warning notifications relevant to you and your family.

    Connectedness for churches:

    Activate your “Phone Tree”

    The best preparedness is connection.
Connection to one another and connection to information that helps to make good decisions.

We encourage to continue to check in with your vulnerable members like the elderly, disabled and culturally and linguistically diverse members who may have trouble accessing/comprehending official mainstream emergency information.

If you share emergency warnings with your phone tree contacts, please note the date and time of the warnings as conditions can change quickly. Direct links to the source are best.

Where possible, early evacuation is always the safest option. Please don’t wait for further communication from ADRA before acting appropriately for your situation, but remember we are here to support during this time as best we can.

    Who to contact:

Your main point of contact at ADRA is Lazio Crescentini 0417 970 141
If you are planning to support community in any way, please call Lazio to link into official coordinated efforts.

If you are unable to contact the above regional managers, please contact Naomi Vaotuua from ADRA’s  Emergency Management Unit on 0411 117 639.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

If we can keep communicating early, we could see how we can support each other and the community during this upcoming storm.

We are praying that God will lead us through the storms and that we can glorify His name even during these dark times.

If you know of any communities that are heavily impacted please do let us know.

If you and your church can respond, please do let me know and we can work with you.

    Kind regards

    Lazio Crescentini
