    Pathfinder Specialist Award Training – Part 1

    Part 1 of the Pathfinder Specialist Award Training. Only those who have already enrolled into the PSA course this year may attend the training.

     

     

    • Date: 02-03 March, 2024
    • Time: 9am-7:45pm
    • Cost: $340 (Once-off payment. This covers the cost of the entire year. PSA Part 2 will take place in August.)

    Bring your own Lunch, Dinner, and Laptop. Snacks will be provided.

    Note: PSA Part 2 will take place August 23rd-25th (Camp at Thirlmere)

     

    THE DEADLINE FOR ALL REGISTRATIONS IS FEBRUARY 26th, 9:00AM. 

    PART 1 of the Pathfinder Specialist Award will take place at Mountain View Adventist College on February 26. You will be given access to your online Avondale units. These units must be completed over the course of the weekend. The topics include:

    • Planning for minimal environmental impact
    • Minimising environmental impact
    • Guiding outdoor recreation sessions
    • Guiding bush walks in a controlled environment
    • Demonstrating bushwalking skills in a controlled environment
    • Responding to emergency situations
    • Operating communication systems and equipment
    • Interpreting weather conditions in the field
