Young Adults Kayak Camp

Packing List

You will need to bring the following items:

• Comfortable clothing (1 set for getting wet & the other for being dry)
• Wet weather clothes (Jacket, raincoat)
• Hat
• Footwear to get wet (no thongs)
• Sleeping gear (sleeping bag, pillow etc.)
• Tent
• Food (breakfast, dinner & lunch-enough for both days)
• Water
• Cooking gear (if required)
• Head torch (this is essential)
• Toiletries
• Water proof bag to store all items in

Please note: Your storage space in the kayak is about 90 liters. That’s the same as a big hiking pack. So if you can fit all your stuff in a pack, you will be able to get it in the kayak. However all your items need to be in something waterproof.

The ideal size waterproof bag size is 13 liters. Any larger and you will struggle to fill the kayak compartment space. They fit nicely through the hatches of the kayaks. These bags are readily available from Anaconda or any outdoor shop. They are also good for use inside your pack when hiking, not just kayaking. You will probably need a couple.

If you can’t get waterproof bags, you can use plastic bags, but please double bag your gear. The same size restrictions apply. Use multiple small bags to pack your gear.

COVID-19 Notice:

We will be working with the venue to ensure that the event is COVID-safe. Please do not attend this event if you have:

• fever or symptoms of respiratory infection (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath)
• been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
• returned from overseas in the last 14 days
