Mental Health First Aid Workshop | 17th & 24th November

    17 November 2024 - 24 November 2024
    Stanmore Church
    1B Cannon St.
    Stanmore, NSW

Become a Mental Health First Aider to support friends, family members, colleagues and others.

This two-day event is the starting requirement to obtain a Standard Mental Health First Aid training certificate.

The training, developed by MHFA Australia and taught by expert Leo Barreto, is delivered over two Sundays, and equips the attendee with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support family members, friends, co-workers, other peers, and complete strangers through a mental health crisis. In a safe, judgement-free space, you can engage in in-depth discussions about how to approach people, how to most help them, and possibly even save a life simply by just having a conversation.

The course covers a variety of topics and offers a new perspective on mental illnesses. With a high prevalence of mental health challenges, this training is of ever-growing importance.

About 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training will teach you practical skills to support someone with a mental health problem. Make a real difference to teach people in your community.
