    We are thrilled to announce the return of the Greater Sydney Conference Big Camp for another year!

    Mark your calendars for April 21st to April 27th, 2025, as we gather once again at the beautiful Adventist Alpine Village in Jindabyne. This year’s theme is Empowered to Go, aligning with our focus on Cycle of Evangelism and Harvest ’25. Each one of us has the ability and resilience needed to be a disciple of God; sometimes all it takes is a bit of encouragement and some practical guidance.

    Our speakers for Big Camp 2025 are Randy Roberts, Senior Pastor at Loma Linda University Church, and Pastor Adam Ramdin, Executive Producer of Lineage Journey.

    Planning to stay off site? Book as soon as you can! Onsite accommodations will open with registration.

    Activities

    For the Kids | Thredbo Pools, MTB, a movie night, Alpine Coaster, Archery Attack plus a special outing to explore the caves & more!

    For Youth & YA | In between the Word of God, wind down with a Paint & Sip, a Thredbo Adventure, a Jindy Adventure, Board Game Night, and night Hangout Cafe.

    For Adults | Mount Kosciuszko/Thredbo Activity Day, Touch football, Archery Attack, Paint’n’Chat, Camp Cooking Masterclass, Escape Room, + Trivia Games and crafts.

    Get active ADRA Australia are joining forces to host an AM bootcamp and fun run complete with prizes. Sanitarium will be treating guests to breakfast following the fun run!

    Spent time with God | Each day from 5:30am-6:30am the prayer room will be open. From 7:30am-8am the Family Worship room will be open for you and yours. “The family that prays, stays together.”

    Get together | Various meetups will be held throughout Adventist Alpine Village and JindaByne. We have a special ANZAC activity lined up for all!

    Workshops

    A selection of workshops led by our Departmental Directors and Special Guests to help you work on and improve you.

    Meals

    There are a few ways to stay fed at Big Camp. Onsite options include: daily meals in the cafeteria (breakfast at $15, lunch  at $17 and/or dinner at $19), camp-side cooking, meal prepping in the self-catering kitchen, and hitting up the AAV Cafe. You can also head into town for a number of restaurant and supermarket options. Jindabyne centre is just a few short kilometres away!

    Your camp experience should be a comfortable one. Share your needs with our team and we will do our best to accommodate.

    Transportation – Do you need a ride?

    Will Big Camp be livestreamed?

    Yes. Programs will also be available on our website at https://sydney.adventist.org.au/watch/ sometime after the event.

    Is the Conference organising rides to Big Camp in Jindabyne?

    Yes! We will arranging travel to camp for those w. Simply book your spot at registration.

    FOOD | What options will there be onsite?

    CAFETERIA

    1. Can cafeteria meals be purchased on the day or only if booked in advance via the big camp registration?

    No, meals must be purchases in advance for catering purposes.

    Plates and cutlery are provided for dine in guests only. Please bring your own plates for take away meals.  Serving times are as follows:

    • Breakfast: 8:00 – 9.00 am
    • Lunch 12:30 – 1:30 pm &
    • Dinner 5:30 – 6:30 pm

     

    CAFE

    1. Will the Cafe be open all day?

    Yes. You will be able to purchase items from the cafe throughout the day.

    ACTIVITIES | What is there to do?

    1. What activities will there be for my kids?

    For kids and teens we have Thredbo Pools, MTB, a movie night, Archery Attack & more! Bus transportation between activities is included.

    2. What activities will there be for Youth & Young Adults?

    For Youth & Young Adults a Paint & Sip, a Thredbo Adventure, a Jindy Adventure, Board Game Night, and and night Hangout Cafe. Bus transportation between activities is included.

    3. Will there be fun activities for Adults?

    Yes! The activities team is currently working on this. We will update this info shortly.

    I live overseas and would like to attend. Can I?

    Yes. Overseas guests are welcome to attend this event. However, please note that the Conference does not provide invitation letters or assist with visa applications. You will need to be able to enter Australia and cover event costs on your own.

    What safety measures will be in place?

    In order to provide a safe environment for children and families, and so everyone can be included in all activities including the Adventist Alpine Village (AAV) Markets, people must register their intention to attend camp. Registration is obligatory for all campers.

    Day visitors must also register before the event, or if they just show to Big Camp, will have to register at the camp office.

    Upon arrival all campers will need to be checked in at the camp registration booth. Camp registration will commence from 8.00am on Monday 22nd April 2024. Registration will close at 5pm on Monday 22nd April 2024. Here you will collect your registration pack and sign any waiver forms that are applicable to you and/or your family.

     

    Protection of Children and Vulnerable persons:  

    We want camp to be a great experience and a safe place, so we encourage all those onsite to observe the conditions below:

    • For the safety and protection of all children at camp, it is a requirement that children attending the Beginners/Kindy area be cared for at all times by their parent/carer/guardian. This includes during program times. There will not be staff allocated for this purpose.
    • The requirement for the Primary Division program is that parent/carer/guardian must sign the child in and out of each event.
    • It is the responsibility of the parent/carer/guardian to know the whereabouts of your children at all times.
    • Adsafe Checks will be done prior to camp and each day, for all day visitors, to ensure GSC Big Camp is a safe environment.

     

    Chalet and Dormitory Accommodation: 

    For Work, Health & Safety (WHS) reasons and insurance purposes, you are requested not to exceed the maximum number of people allowed in each facility. The Conference WHS team will be on site for the duration of the event.

     

    This is a Christian camp and therefore your conduct, dress and deportment should be in harmony with the Bible and Seventh-day Adventist principles.
