Escape city life and explore more of the natural beauty of the Mount Wilson and Mount Tomah area.
We’ll gather on at Cathedral Reserve Sabbath afternoon, walk to the Cathedral of Ferns, and end the evening with a BBQ dinner around a campfire. Dinner will be supplied – $5 per person (payable when you get there).
Following breakfast and breakdown on Sunday is a trek out to one of the magnificent, privately-owned open gardens in the area to enjoy the brilliant display of Autumn colours, followed by a stop at the Blue Mountains Botanic for lunch at the Ugly Mug Kiosk and a stroll around the gardens before returning to Sydney.
This is a free camping area with BBQ facilities, open fireplaces, picnic tables, tank water (not suitable for drinking), composting toilets (but no showers).
Take the Bills Line of Road. Once you pass Mt Tomah turn right onto Mount Wilson Road. Go through the Mount Wilson Village, veer left onto Mount Irvine Road. The campground is on the right just a short distance past Mount Wilson village.
There are no shops, petrol stations or restaurants in the village so bring whatever you will need.
